Our Offer

Using a payment account is particularly important for our everyday life - whether from our workplace or from home, everyone should be able to use a payment account.

With BPA, First Investment Bank AD provides clients who are natural persons with an account for basic banking services. It enables daily payment operations and is suitable for anyone who does not have an account in Bulgaria and who resides legally in the European Union.

PABO is offered by all member states of the European Union in compliance with Directive (EU) 92/2014 - that no one is excluded from economic life, incl. vulnerable users.


Services that are provided through BPA:

The basic payment account is an account through which the following services and operations in BGN are provided in accordance with Art. 118 of the Payment Services and Payment Systems Act (PSPSA) on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria:

  1. opening, using (maintaining/keeping) and closing a payment account;
  2. depositing funds to BPA at a cash desk in an office of Fibank;
  3. withdrawing cash from BPA:
  • at the cash desk in office of Fibank - during the Bank's working hours;
  • at ATM terminal device - during the Bank's working hours or beyond that time;
  1. payments under direct debits;
  2. payment operations carried out by debit payment card, including payment via the Internet;
  3. credit transfers, including periodic transfer orders, at ATM and POS terminal devices and at the cash desk in Bank’s office, when available, and through My Fibank electronic banking systems:
  • to payment account at Fibank;
  • to payment account at another bank through BISERA.

With PABO you can use services outside the scope of Art. 118 of the PSPSA, such as international transfers, transfers within the country in foreign currency - at standard fees according to Bank’s Tariff;

Additional information:

  • Bank Deposit Guarantee Fund guarantees full repayment of the sums to one person in one bank, regardless of their number and amount, up to BGN 196,000, and this amount includes the accrued interest up to the date of issuance of the act under Art. 20, paragraph 1 of the Law on Guaranteeing Deposits in Banks. The funds on the payment account are guaranteed by the Bank Deposit Guarantee Fund, established and functioning in the Republic of Bulgaria, according to the procedure, up to the amount and under the conditions stipulated in the Law on Guaranteeing Deposits in Banks;
  • Each customer can have only one basic payment account.
  • It is not allowed to open joint accounts of this type;


“BPA upon fulfillment of the conditions under Art. 120a of the PSPSA“:

„BPA under the conditions of Art. 120a of the PSPSA" is an account under Art. 118 of the PSPSA, on which, if funds from employment remunerations, pensions, benefits and allowances under social security and social assistance, scholarships for pupils, students and doctoral students are received and held and operations are carried out by the order of the account holder at the expense of these funds, the conditions of Art. 120a of the PSPSA shall apply.
