In connection with the transition from a static to a dynamic 3D password for payment on the Internet with cards at merchants participating in the Mastercard SecureCode and Verified by Visa additional security programs, it is necessary that the number of the mobile phone registered by you with the Bank on which you will receive SMS notification with a one-time 3D password, to be up-to-date. You can update your mobile phone number at any of the Bank's offices or through your registration in My Fibank electronic banking in Settings / Phone Number for 3D Password menu. For clients with active banking rights, the change and validation of the valid phone number will be made depending on the tools used for signature and identification. Clients with passive banking rights need to confirm the valid phone number by entering an authorization code and ID number of ATM from a receipt for a transaction made at the terminal device (ATM) within the last 24 hours. Fibank has begun gradually to introduce the new 3D password, which is why it is possible for certain customers in a certain period of time to use the existing by now method for payment on the Internet for some payment cards.

With 3D Card Security, Fibank offers its customers with debit and credit cards greater security for online payments.
Cards issued by Fibank are pre-included in the additional security programs MasterCard SecureCode for card by MasterCard and Verified by Visa for Visa cards.
3D Security service does not change the way you pay on the Internet, it just introduces one additional step to:
- increase the security of online payments;
- provide additional security and control.
In addition to the standard details required by merchants for online payments - number and validity of card, name of holder and CVV (CVC) code, for making online payments at merchants participating in the security programs MasterCard SecureCode for cards by MasterCard and Verified by Visa for Visa cards, it is also required to enter a 3D password. For merchants not participating in the program, the card is used without entering a 3D password.
What is a 3D password and how do you receive such a password?
3D password is required for each card transaction on the internet at merchants participating in the MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa programs. It is a one-off password and it is only valid for the particular transaction, amount and recipient.
3D password is obtained by SMS notification to the cardholder's telephone number registered with the Bank or is generated by using a Fibank Token and a QR Code scan for My Fibank customers that confirm transactions via Fibank Token.
For a quick and trouble-free service, it's important to update the phone number where you will receive the SMS notifications.
You can update your phone number:
- at Bank's office
- by using My Fibank electronic banking system for registered users.
The update in My Fibank is made from the Settings / Phone Number for 3D Password menu:
- for clients with active banking rights, the change and confirmation of the valid phone number is made depending on the tools used for signature and identification.
- clients with passive banking rights need to confirm the valid phone number by entering an authorization code and ID number of ATM from a receipt for a transaction made at the terminal device (ATM) within the last 24 hours.
How does 3D Card Security work?
Using 3D Card Security does not change the way you have been executing payments so far. Before completing the payment, you will be asked for your 3D password. Following correct entry of 3D password you can complete the payment with the card. This only makes your online purchases more secure when you pay at merchants registered for Verified by Visa and Mastercard SecureCode programs.
