To apply, the student/doctoral student must:
- Have Bulgarian citizenship, citizenship of another member state of the European Union, of another country of the European Economic Area (Liechtenstein, Iceland and Norway) or of the Swiss Confederation;
- Be under 35 years of age;
- Be a full-time student pursuing the acquisition of an educational and qualification degree "Bachelor" (Bachelor or Professional Bachelor) or "Master", or an educational and scientific degree "Doctor" in a state-owned or private higher educational institution or a scientific organization established and operating in accordance with the statutory procedure under Art. 47, para. 1 of the Higher Education Act (the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Agricultural Academy, the national centers for public health problems and other scientific organizations);
- Has not acquired the same educational and qualification or educational and scientific degree;
- Has not been dismissed and has not interrupted his/her studies except in the following cases: interruption due to illness, maternity within the meaning of the Social Security Code or for studies at another higher educational institution or scientific organization;
- Has no other loan obligations that have not been serviced for more than 6 months.
Required documents:
- Loan application;
- Copy of identity document;
- Certificate (according to sample form), issued by a higher educational institution or a scientific organization certifying the status of a student or doctoral student with the right to enroll for the next semester according to Art. 10, para. 3 of the Law on lending loans to students and doctoral students;
- Declaration of affiliation (according to the Bank's template);
- Other documents, if this is required to fulfill legal requirements and are directly related to the loan agreement.
When applying for a maintenance loan, in addition to the documents listed above, the following should also be provided:
- A copy of a birth certificate in which the student or doctoral student is listed as a parent;
- In the case of full adoption - a copy of a court decision that has entered into force, which has accepted the request for adoption and in which the student or doctoral student is listed as the adoptive parent;
- A document issued by a higher educational institution or a scientific organization certifying that the student or doctoral student had such status in the year of birth or adoption of the child, respectively;
When applying for a loan by a student/doctoral student who is a foreign citizen, the following should also be provided:
- Certificate from the relevant credit register of the country of citizenship;
- Certificate of long-term or permanent residence, issued by the Migration Directorate of the Ministry of Interior;
